Model How Coded Information in Genes Results in Proteins that Perform Specific Functions!
Research-Based & Developed with Support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH)
With this hands-on lab investigation, students model how information in the DNA base sequences is transcribed and translated to produce a protein molecule. They model how interaction between amino acids causes a protein to fold into a three dimensional shape that enables the protein to perform a specific function. Brief readings relate the structure of various proteins to their functions.
