Students will dissect owl pellets, identify prey remains, and - using the prey skeleton key provided - determine the species consumed to learn about the predatory habits of the owl. With the prey remains found, they will then construct food chains and food webs to learn about energy transfer in an ecosystem.
Set includes 10 sterilized, large owl pellets wrapped in aluminum; 20 probes; 10 forceps; 10 illustrated, 4-page student guides; and a 44-page Dissection Resource Guide. Also includes one-year online streaming access to NewPath’s Food Chains & Food Webs Multimedia Lesson.
